does anybody know what this original color on my 67 1/2 ton burb is, these are the best pics i could get with my cell phone cam, it gold but what color?

haha yah i know lol. the glovebox spid said it was special paint, but would like to know what color gold it is, looks pretty similar to some of the 50th gold trucks i have seen posted, but it cant be possible as mine is obviously not a 50th. although, i do believe it might have had the fawn colored interior as well because the metal inside was the same color as the 50th burbs and so were what was left of the material on the door panels. which is no longer their.

It looks like 50th anniversary Gold- and many times when they had something like the '68 50th Anniversaries coming up they would need to make some the previous year to show what they would look like. Yours could easily be an example of what the '68s were going to look like.

so does that make mine a little more rare being those colors originally, just wondering as i have never seen another actual 67 those colors??

looks like the 68 gold http://www.classictruckshop.com/phot....php/photo/109 code 551 then 1970 was the next time chev went with the gold and called it 526 the two are close in the chips

That is 1968 50th Anniversary Gold Option code 551, came with Fawn interior on Surban, Carryall & Chevy Van only.....info came from 1968 2nd addition Price & Facts Book dated Feb 1968...........I have 68 GMC 1500 painted the same color........that is a rare breed burb you have, early production ! do you have a build date on drivers door below door latch ?

thanks, but mine is not a 1968, their is not a build date on the door below the latch as that door has been replaced, and the only one in the door jamb is the one with the vin number. according to the pink slip and vin it is a 1967, but... the pink said that it wasnt sold untill 1968

your rpo codes K24 and K19 are from the 1968 year. the vin CE10905 = a 327 2bbl with p/s M49 turbo 3 spd trans and should have a 3.07 rear gears. then there is the gold paint sample in your pic and the rpo says special paint. that's a spot that looks like its factory paint as its a lot of work the get to it. you could sand a spot and see how many colors or coats of paint are there. that would then prove it. over time the year of the sub may very well have been mixed up from owner to owner.

thanks, i had always wondered what v8 engine mine came with and now i know, it had been repainted a few different times before i had aquired it, but the gold is the original as the firewall was that color when i aquired it as well. also the rearend had been changed out as well, then i changed it over to a 5 lug 71-72 rear end. thats kind of wierd on the k24 and k19 rpo code, another reason why i know that it is not a 68 is because the rear corners where their would have been marker light holes their is nothing, not even a trace of them ever being their, not even from the inside. the m49 rpo code is for the th400 thrans. below the gold is a primer coat, and then above that is gold. here is another pic (old) that i attached of the fire walls original color, same as the area behind the fender
