Can I get rid of this?
I assume this is some kind of emissions canister. Large line is coming from the gas tank and the smaller lines go to the bottom of the carburetor. One of the small lines is broken loose from the canister.

Re: Can I get rid of this?
If you get rid of it you should get a vented gas cap.

Re: Can I get rid of this?
Won't there be a line to be plugged, also? Doesn't that canister return the fumes/vapors to the gas tank? If not, won't there be an odor of gasoline?

Re: Can I get rid of this?
You have to take the hose off of the gas tank. Top passenger side of the tank. Then get a hose and plug it with a bolt and clamp. Then clamp the short hose to the tank. There is also a small hose by the filler neck. Make sure that hose is new and tight. Make sure the sender unit is not leaking. You should not smell gas in side of the truck. You may smell gas out side by the gas cap. It will be a vented gas cap.

Re: Can I get rid of this?
You should sell it on the parts board to a member that is looking to do a total restore.

Re: Can I get rid of this?
i don't see any reason to delete it... it does a good job at removing fumes and doesn't hurt anything. If it is too ugly it can be moved to a spot where you won't see it.

The P.O. removed it from my truck and the fumes are annoying.
