Help needed - 1972 grill assembly pics needed

First I want to say thank you....I am a Ford guy through and through but recently had a good buddy go through a stroke and isn't able to get out and work on his truck. I believe that I have everything to put a grill and headlight assembly on his 1972 C20. Everything is new but I can't figure out for the life of me what type of clips hold the outer aluminum shell to the plastic grill insert.

Both have square holes but the ones in the insert are slotted for adjustability.

Can someone please send me some step by step instructions so I can get my buddies rig together for when he is better.

Thanks!

First, to the forum!

Second, from a stroke survivor....you get a big attaboy from me. I wish I had friends like that, who were able to get me going.

Third, I can't answer your question because I have a '69, with a slightly different grille. So, I recommend www.lmctruck.com to get their picture. It's a line drawing, quite a bit like Mitchell Crash Book illustrations. Should be easy to look at the pic and see how it all works. Here's the link to their page 68. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=68

You need to attach the inner plastic grill to the outer with some small clips that you can buy though LMC, I've also used tip ties once just to put it together and later replaced them with the correct plastic clips.

Re: Help needed - 1972 grill assembly pics needed

Thank you guys....I have been to the site and it doesn't give a good look as to which clips or even the type of clips that they are.....I am more of a see a pic one time and I can do it. heck I have even tried over 10 different types of the plastic fasteners but once you have them in the aluminum outer shell, and try to use a screw and big butt washer they just spin the clips around.....arrrrggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!
