swap to a th350?
Tonight I am going to remove the manual trans crossmember off of my 65 c10. Do you recommend grinding of the clutch bracket that is bolted to frame also?

Re: swap to a th350?
I left my clutch bracket in place. I don't think it is in the way of anything. Good luck with the crossmember. It was a huge pain. Lots of patience, a long punch, and a BFH will help a lot. If you're doing it with your cab on, it might be a good idea to use a reciprocating saw to cut the bracket off as close to the frame as you can get in order to provide more clearance for the grinder.
