body lift kit
got a question for everyone. when I get to that point with my truck I think i'm going to do a 4inch all spring lift and I'm leaning towards a 1" body lift. Now I don't see a 1" kit in existance and i think I would have a hard time paying for it when I can make it. Do the body lift kits just consist of metal pucks and a longer mount bolt? We have a lathe in the shop at work so I figured I would make a set out of aluminum. Then as far as installation between the frame and the soft mount or soft mount and body?
Thanks! David |

Re: body lift kit
Yes hockey pucks will split. While not a fan of body lifts in general, if you are only going 1", use the ORD kit and do it right. Hockey pucks are not designed for the job and will ultimately fail by crumbling or cracking apart.

Re: body lift kit
Are you stuck on a body lift or would you be alright with a EZ-inch kit from ord or diy4x?

Re: body lift kit
well the plan was 4 inches of spring lift then 1 inch of body lift. i considered a 6inch spring lift but I wanted to keep the frame a couple inches lowere to hook onto our trailer.

Re: body lift kit
That makes sense this spring ill be ordering new 4 inch front springs and adding the EZ-inch blocks i already have and I'm afraid its gonna be to high for a trailer. I'm not the biggest fan of body lifts but i put on on to clear the Big Block. I just used a 1" thick piece of steel cut into 3" squares then a 3/4" one on top. So i have a odd ball 1 3/4" body lift.

Re: body lift kit
gotcha, i'm just adding a little extra clearance for tires. my big block will have a 700r4 behind it so don't really need the extra height for clearance but won't hurt.
