truck wont stay running

i recently replaced the distributor on my 68 c10, after breaking the last due to corrosion and weak innards, i egt the new one in and start the truck, starts right up and runs. i thhink great set the timing and done. turn the engine off and go to start it again just to make sure, air. cranks wont start. check plugs check wires, check gas. al seems fine go and check to see if im getting spark, thats fine to.in theory it should run, im out of ideas, any help would be greatly apperciated. the engine is a 350, hei, cabureted.
