71 long bed project
well my brother bought a 71 c10 long bed. the seller wanted 2500, but we found out it had 700 in back fees so we offered him 1400 and he took it. so far we changed the front clip from the 71 to a 69 due to his 71 front clip being hit by a deer and the seller peaced it back together the grill looked ugly. our friend gave us a clean 69 truck so we have been parting it out, anyways here are some pic of what we done so far

the pics above are of the new gauges and the new headlights and 8000k HID kit. here are some more pics, we also lowered the truck 3in in front and 5in in the rear. we tooked the bed off due to the bed on the 71 has a big hole for a cb antenna and a b ig squre hole for a propane hook up

Re: 71 long bed project
the headlights are the 7in round with black housing instead of chrome and it has a projector like the newer headlights on the newer cars, the it has a h4 style bulb that is a HID kit. the 7in headlights were 27 for the pair and the HID kit is plug and play that was 37 bucks

Re: 71 long bed project
well we just got the heads last nite and started putting the motor back together, we installed the new cam, and lifters and timing gear. installed the heads and new intake and a holly 650 spread bore carb almost there, we had problems reinstalling/ adjusting the rocker arms, we were going off what we found on the net, but it was 3am and we were tired so we could of be doing sumthing wrong or missing a step lol. well heres some pics

Re: 71 long bed project
Great job! Looks good. I'm new to the board, but your build is simular to mine. My 71 will be getting a 69 clip and bed. I'll post my thread one day. I bet your brother is proud of you and the truck, good times.

This is one awsome project you have going and the pics couldn't be better. Subscribed! It would be a perfect addition to the 'projects' area. BTW---are those roller rockers under that '68 C-10's valve covers? More on the engine please. .
