Oil dipstick tube sb 350

hey guys i need some help with replacing a oil dipstick/tube the motor is a chevy 350 i think the block is a early year due it having a 2 peace rear main seal, driver side dipstick, long water pump and the alt on the passnger side. would this be correct? the picks above is the motor that needs the dipstick. any ways here are some pics of whats left of it, i know they sell dipsticks for like 65-79 sb 350 would those work? cuz a 1980 350 had the dipstick on the passnger side right and a one peace main seal??

ok here are pics, and i the tube i pulled out in the pic with the flare at the the end whats that? part of the dipstick?

Yes, you are correct, if it's driver side dipstick you need the early type of one.

No one ever listens to me on this, but I have found the best dipstick and tube is one from GM, not aftermarket. They fit the block tighter and leak less than the Chinese crap they sell aftermarket.

That piece you are showing is the lower tube. It's in your block the wrong way. It's goes in from the top with the flare up. Tapped in and seated in the hole. The lower tube keeps the stick pionted down and way from the rotating assemble.

My tube is loose in my block (rtv'd it multiple times). I think its leaking oil there too.

What now?

It only hangs down a coupla inches in the pan area when you get your dipstick it will come with another tube that you drive down on top of this tube.You can leave it a little high then when you drive the top tube in it will push it down far enough.When driving in the top tube take a 1/4" bolt and put it in the tube then tap on the bolt to drive it in
