Re: BBC Motor Mounts Not the perches HELP

There are different types of stock BB perches, pre 72 and 72 only. Depends on which you installed but I ran pre 72 perches and SB motor mounts on my 72 for years and it worked fine. These are the ones with a single bolt that goes through the perch from the bottom and screws into the SB mount (Very similar to SB mounts, first pic).

Here are some pics for you to see the differences if you aren't already aware. The first pic is pre 72 BB perches which look just like the SB perches but have "cups" above the motor mount hole so the exhaust will fit. I'm not sure about a 67 but they fit in the same frame holes as the SB mounts on my 72. The second pic is the 72 perches and mounts. They are a clamshell type motor mount and are completely different from the others. I'm not aware of a SB mount that works with these perches but there may be some.

I have no idea what mods need to be made on a 67 to get the perches in. Are you sure the perches are in right? That will make a huge difference in whether or not the mounts line up right.

Not true. I've always run small block mounts on the big block stands. If you search, I did an FAQ article on it with pictures.

Re: BBC Motor Mounts Not the perches HELP

I don't think you would have to cut anything. And the small block mounts should work. Do you have some pics of what is going on?

Re: BBC Motor Mounts Not the perches HELP

Well in 67 the frames are wider than 68-72 where the perches mount to. from what i read My 68 was wide were the perches sit.
So cut of some metal and got the perches workin good bolted to the front v8 holes. Some 68-72 didnt have the wide frames due to big blocks coming out that year from what i have read.
