Re: Wanting to slam my truck.. bag ?'s
The biggest question is how low do you really want to go. A pretty simple system can be pieced together if you are looking at doing the minimal amount of cutting, but you will not lay frame when you have the bags fully deflated. If you want to lay the frame on the pavement, the diffuclty lever and cost greatly increase.
If you just want to just put bags in place of the springs and not remove fenderwells or cut the bed, you will need drop spindles, airbags, and bag plates and cups for the front. Simply bolting bags to your trailing arm and the frame in place of the springs in the rear will get the job done, with some drop blocks and a bolt in c-notch to get it as low as is possible in the rear without cutting the bed. No matter what the air setup is, you will need an air tank, compressors, airline, fittings, and valves. that is if you want adjustibility in the cab. If you are doing it in stages, you can fun your airline to schrader valves, and air it up with the shop cmpressor until you can save for the rest of your air management. There are alot of options out there, just be sure you use quality components in your system. After all, these parts are holding your truck up off the ground! I encoourage you to check with our board vendors to see what they have to offer, and make your decisions. Suicide Doors.com, Porterbuilt Streetrods, Scott's Hotrods, AVS, ect. I would spend alot of time in the suspension forum, as thats what I did before I redid my suspension to fully lay out. Good luck with it, and most of all HAVE FUN! |

Re: Wanting to slam my truck.. bag ?'s
I just went through the same thought process on what to do with my 65. What I decided on was to order 2 1/2" drop spindles, 2" blocks and u-bolts for the back and a basic bag kit with the schrader valves to get me started. Going to do the power disc brakes and power steering at the same time. Got most everything from vendors here for a great price. Once this part is complete I will upgrade the bag controls.

Most of the information you will need has been covered in this forum extensively. Spend some time researching to determine how low you want to go. Set a realistic budget, and buy quality components as you can afford them.
