K20 rear leaf question...

i ordered new leafs for my truck and when they came in, they didn't fit... come to find out the ones that i have are 3" wide, new ones are 2.5"; and my leafs are 58" in overall length, the new ones are also shorter. called everywhere and they told me the ones that i bought are made for my truck; how did my truck come with these larger springs?? the spring perches are in the original place with rivets in them, and there are no other holes in front or behind them, so they're not remounted. anyone else have this problem??

a local shop is making some leafs for me now, but no one knows why i have these heavier springs on my truck.

Re: K20 rear leaf question...

well as far as i know the 67 and 68's were the only ones with these springs and im assuming yours is a 70 from your signature, and these springs were 56" eye to eye measured along the curve of the spring.

do you know if the body on your truck has been swapped to an older frame? also are these springs a "2 pack"? with only 2 thick springs in the pack?

Re: K20 rear leaf question...

yeah, i'm kinda thinking that's what it was, but measuring from center of eye to center of the leaf is 29", that's how the spring shop guy that's building my springs measured it. but i can't find any plating on the frame to do any research. i also sprayed my frame and that might make it even harder for me to find info...

thanks,

wayne
