Re: Help with bracket ID...

Eric,
The smaller one looks to be the factory cable bracket to keep the engine from lifting. it bolts to the exhaust manifold and has a cable attached to the frame..
The other one is a smog pump bracket for a long water pump.. cannot tell from the pics if its for a BB or SB. the only difference is the bolt spacing, they bolt down on the front of the block by the fuel pump

Re: Help with bracket ID...

I can safely say that the one with the welded on nut, is the smog pump bracket that bolts to the engine block on the passenger side.

But, the other one after staring at it some more. I'm not sure now what that one is, since it looks bent and one end looks chopped off?

Vectorit, I can post up some more pics if you like...
Is the smog pump bracket worth anything?
Eric

Re: Help with bracket ID...

Those smog pump brackets are worth something to the right person, and recycle material to the next person. Just like I thought all those stock air cleaners and radios were worth nothing when I threw them away years ago, now stuff like that is worth a lot to me and I kick myself for chucking all of that stuff.
