Re: 1957 frame dimension ?
My 58 1/2 ton says 34" that would be outside to outside of frame, 30" inside to inside

Re: 1957 frame dimension ?
Ok my frame is 34 inch wide but the frame rails are 2 1/4 wide at the front axle ,so it makes a distance of 29 1/2 .
so that means that a 3100 frame is only 2 inch wide ?? this info is for a installation of a mustang II crossmember Because the crossmember i receive is only 29 inch wide |

Re: 1957 frame dimension ?
Now according to my 58 manual it shows the 3600 as 34 " wide allso<I would get ahold of company that you are going to use and ask them.I would think that it would at least be 29 3/8th wide ,but I'm wrong most of the time.

Re: 1957 frame dimension ?
its because nobody make them for 3600 frame , and i never trust manual
Its alway better to have the real measurements , so this forum is the best place to have the exact info . From a good measuring tape |

Re: 1957 frame dimension ?
thanks you Orrie G
so if i look at the specs for the frame rails 3100 is 2.260 inch wide and 3600 is 2.250 so a 3/4 frame is .010 smaller. 3100 is 6.00 depth and a 3600 is 6.090 so a 3/4 frame is .090 taller 3100 is .140 thick and a 3600 is .190 thick so a 3/4 frame is .050 thicker So i can confirm that my 1957 3600 frame is exact those spec. But there is one thing i just notice : is that a 1957 1/2 ton long box (3200) as a 3/4 ton FRAME So if somebody can just mesure is 3100 frame to confirm the manuel it will be a very good info for future reference thanks |
