1bbl rochester monojet

i have a quick question about this carb. on the metering rod and spring and the the power piston, does the spring go on top or bottom of the power piston to hold it in place? i can't find a good picture of how it goes. any info is appreciated. thanks

thanks stock72c10, i have the same pictures from the haynes carb manual. i put it on the top of the piston, not sure if it makes a difference. thanks again.
