How do I change rear end to posi?

I'm getting a bit further with my build lately and was getting ready to change the rear end to posi. I have a 3 on the tree and the RPM's are high on the freeway. If I remember correctly from last time I looked up the diff case number, it was 3.54 final drive.

I'd like the change the rear end out to posi and also lower the gear ratio.

Any suggestions or links? I'm open to finding a donor vehicle and/or buying all new parts. I'm just not sure exactly what needs to be changed to acomplish my goals.

Go here:

http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com/categories/gm/

They list all of the things you will need...Ring & pinion of the correct ratio, posi center section, and an Install kit. The total is going to come to about $800 depending on your choice of posi carriers and gear ratio's.

Even if you find a donor it's helpful to know what's inside your diff and get an idea how much it costs to rebuild one. If you decide to do it yourself just be sure you have access to a 12 to 20 ton press to install the pinion bearings.

You could go to the link I posted for a complete 12-bolt rebuild that I posted for sale. ;-)
