4x4 Longhorn????

Anybody got a Longhorn Edition thats been converted to 4 wheel drive? I've got a 71 C20 thats been in the family as long as I could remember. The original motor and trans are long gone, so a numbers matching resto is out of the question. Any ideas? Pics would be great.

Re: 4x4 Longhorn????

I have an old friend in Sun Valley,ID that had a Hugger Orange & White one the last time I saw him...no pictures. It's a cool idea, but you know you can still restore your truck to original fairly easily. The numbers aren't real specific like with muscle cars.

Re: 4x4 Longhorn????

Saw one for sale on CL a couple months ago. It was unique because it was even a 1-ton.

1 ton axles. Painted, hopefully with tax returns this year. I can get the final pieces and be out and about with it this summer.

Re: 4x4 Longhorn????

used to be a guy locally that built some beautiful longhorn 4x4s, he was always at the pleasanton, ca. goodguys. i never talked to him but his trucks were very nice and appeared to be built correctly-all 1 ton stuff.

Sinister, that truck is awesome!!! What you have planned for wheels & tires (if any)?
I'd drive it in a hearbeat..course, I'd need the milk carton too.

Re: 4x4 Longhorn????

Here is the 4x4 converted that was on ebay, went for $12.5k.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=300512396273

Probably should have bought it for my desert sled dogs. There is a lot to be said for a turnkey truck.

LOL, actually this was the only picture I had handy. You don't need a milk carton anymore. 99 silverado 60/40 split bench, carpet installed. etc. All the interior is done except door panels need paint. Everything ext is finished to except a short list posted on my build page in my sig.

Wheels and tires, i have wrestled with alot. I think fuel hostage 20x10 w/37" toyo's is where I'm at right now.

Originally I wanted 20x10 weld cheyenne's

Thanks, and Good luck Dieselwrencher. Seems like there is always something that comes up that keeps me from finishing up. Hopefully this year will be different for me.

Re: 4x4 Longhorn????

Yes he is parting it out, he has several threads on the parts board. When I picked up the cab, he still had most of it there. I will pm him with a link to this thread.
