Replace the coil?

Do I need to replace the coil? This spark is jumping from the right hand terminal to the base of the coil.

Re: Replace the coil?

is the main coil wire to the center of the coil showing any signs of metal or a ripped boot. maybe if you have a spare wire you can put on there and test it again.

it's probably a worn wire.

Re: Replace the coil?

No, I cleaned the post the spark looks like it is coming from the middle post about 1/4" down from the bottom of the main wire. I can't see any cracks in the coil. I don't have any extra wires. Used to years ago, need to re-start my collection.
