i think 4wd only has 2 brackets where 2wd has 4. maybe someone who knows for sure will post.

Im not sure, but always heard theres a diff.

I think in the parts catalogs they are diff. part numbers too

Yeah, I bought my truck without a bumper and i installed a rear 2wd bumper and didn't fit quite right. So, here i am. I sure would like the answer... curious minds want to know!

Well the bumpers are all the same (assuming you got the right bumper for the bed)

Fleetside bumpers/stepside bumpers

The brackets are diff. Im pretty sure (either leaf/coil/4x4/2wd) Dunno whats what there.

I got the bumper and brackets as a combo deal off a 2wd. I had no idea about the differences. I have a 72 cheyenne swb 4wd. Go figure.

mo does your frame rails turn down at the back if so these should work for you.

4x4 brackets are a little longer (inner only) and also have a welded in brace for extra support. if memory serves me correctly you can use swb 2wd leaf spring bumper brackets on a 4x4 but not coil spring bumper brackets. i have a few sets of "real" 4x4 brackets (not for sale) but no camera to take pics for comparison. pickup frames don't "turn down" like suburbans and some blazers-don't remember which year blazer turns down.

Thanks Trev, I'm not sure if these will work. I may need to get measurements so I don't take a set of brackets that someone else can use.

If anyone has a picture of both to compare and contrast.

Bill, those must be off a blazer/jimmy? 72 blazers don't have the inner bracket but all trucks do

I think those gravel trays are Blazer only...shorter and different shape. They would be a good item for someone wanting to do a complete correct Blazer.
