Recommendations??

...just wondering if there are any difference with brands (the quality and function) as far as with breathers and pcv breathers? Autozone sells some for a decent price, but what do you guys use or recommend??

Re: Recommendations??

I only use Delco or Wix if no Delco is available-pcv, oil and fuel filters. For air filters either Delco, Wix, or K&N.

Re: Recommendations??

For a PVC, any one from your local auto parts store is OK. For oil and air filters, Wix (NAPA Gold) is the only brand I use.

Re: Recommendations??

i agree with wix or K&N for all filter products, but as far as a simple pcv valve go's i dont think it really matters, its just a way for the engine to vent the crank case. its not a filter really. just my opinion though.

Re: Recommendations??

Wis has more material per square inch and has a drain back valve and if you have ever purchased a Napa premium filter that is a Wix filter in a Napa box.

Re: Recommendations??

OK...so what breather PCV (passenger side) and breather cap (driver side) do you all use?? Wix does not make it? Autozone/Kragens only over Spectre. I dunno if that brand is any good. If not, where do you guys get yours from? Summit? Jegs? Napa? If so, what brand?

FYI: I'm looking into a chrome cap cover type (PCV and Breather cap). LMK.

Re: Recommendations??

What style breather are you shopping for...the kind that pushes into a grommet or the style that has a tang that locks in the valve cover?

The reason I ask is that I've seen, more than once, the tangs come off the bottoms of the latter and fall in the valve cover. The parts store chrome jobbers are notorious for it.

Tang?? What's that? I was hoping to get w/ the black rubber grommet/gasket type and you just plug in the chrome/polished aluminum PVC breather and breather cap into it.

Re: Recommendations??

Go buy a PVC valve from the local auto parts store it will work fine. By breather do you mean the valve cover cap has a breather in it? If so that not a big concern, just get one that fits the valve over..
