Converting my 72 from step to fleet?
Guys,
I am wanting to convert my 72 step into a short fleetside, but there appears to be a complete shortage to doner bed in existance. Is this a California thing or true nation-wide? How much would one expect to pay for one? Can one buy peices and build a bed? How much? SHould I give up and keep it a step? thx, Steve |

Re: Converting my 72 from step to fleet?
There is a nationwide shortage of short fleets.....that people want to sell....that aren't rotten
You can get an entire reproduction bed from Triplus/Keyparts and they actually are really nice looking (have seen in person together and the parts). They will run you around 2200-2500 depending on the dealer and shipping though.... The advantage is no body work. I'm looking myself for a super nice short fleet...I'm willing to pay 1000 up to 1500 for a super SUPER nice original...if not I'll just go repro as it'll save a ton of money and time on body/prep work.

If you have the skills, consider getting a long bed and shorten that,
There is a lot of good info on this site, on methods to cut them down.
