cool ambulance on Craigslist -

Kinda unusual - a '70 ambulance. Looks like it would be an interesting project.

Re: cool ambulance on Craigslist -

Pretty cool, but seams high considering it has no motor. An Ambulance is cool if it's cheap. Otherwise, who wants a Suburban with the roof cut off,an ugly top with big lights added on,holes from special equipment you don't need everywhere, and the rear all gutted? Pop top means the top raises up and down, like on campers

Correct. But,a pop top does. The seller misnamed the top is what I was saying.

Re: cool ambulance on Craigslist -

I've always wondered what it would take to convert one of those old ambulances back into a standard suburban by fixing the roof. Otherwise, they usually are really clean.

Re: cool ambulance on Craigslist -

we've always called that style top a pop top, even if it doesn't raise up.
back in the olden days different parts of the country might have had different names for the same thing. i ran across this more than you'd think in my navy dazes. what do you call this type of top?

ps- by we've , i don't mean to imply this was my ad.

Re: cool ambulance on Craigslist -

I wonder what motor and tranny it came out with. I heard that ambulances that had 400 turbos had the stronger straight cut planataries.
