Should I buy or should I not!

I have an chance to buy a couple of trucks. Both trucks are 1972's. The 1st truck is a Cheyenne super 3/4 ton long bed with no spid on glove box door. It has a lot of options though, which include 402BB, tach, tilt, buckets,PS,PB, a/c and positraction. The cab needs a lot of work, floor pans, rockers, cab corners and also has cab lights on the roof which I don't care for! It looks to be an original truck. It even has the original brass clips that hold the carpet to cover the gas tank, for bucket seat trucks. The color is: Ochra with black buckets and the engine does run! $1800 The other truck is a 72 GMC short bed 402 BB with pretty good options also and has the original spid on glove box door. I think it is suppose to have a fleetside bed on it but has a blue step side bed. It also needs floor work.cab corner, rockers, and cab supports. Both cabs are good up on top with no rust. The engine does not run on the GMC.$2200 I took some pics on my cell of the GMC glove box and engine compartment. I know I don't have enough pics but, which one is the better deal, Chevy lwb running for $1800 or GMC swb not running for $2200 Sorry about the side ways pics!

Re: Should I buy or should I not!

If the bodies are at least similar as far as rust go, I would go with the shortbed GMC any day of the week. Especially if it has the spid and you see that most of the original parts/options are still on the truck. In the long run either engine would most likely need a rebuild anyway. Thats just my perspective.

Re: Should I buy or should I not!

I dont know what your plans are for the truck your looking to buy...but in the long run if you decide to sell..the BB shotbed will be worth alot more imo.
