anybody freeze up this week?

i saw coolant in the snow this morning. apparently my coolant wasn't good to -11... i think i froze up but its a mild possibility it's a leak. either way it looks as good as it can being in the radiator. i'll investigate it maybe sunday. its supposed to be near 55 here.

Re: anybody freeze up this week?

We've had some of everything freeze here. Have broke some 26 yr low records.
We didn't have as much snow to deal with as you guys, only the cold temps.

Hope the anti-freeze drip is a minor leak, not worse.
Good Luck.

Re: anybody freeze up this week?

Was -21 here the other morning, my 05 fired right up and finally warmed up after about 20 minutes of sitting in the driveway. The 87 was inside my shop with all the heaters set on 70 though, so I know she was safe. The 84 I just bought, we checked it this evening when we drug it in to the shop, the antifreeze is nice and green in it so I'm hoping it did not freeze up.

Was very strange looking up at the outside temp that morning.... brrrrrrr.

Re: anybody freeze up this week?

-28 last week then wind chill down another 10+ degress yup sure been cold here
gas line anti freeze to make sure of starting
they even sell winter gas up here
you could crack the block if not enough anti freeze
check around the mounts if your concered
don't drive it,
if you can take fluid out, take out lots if you can
do so and replace with anti freeze,if there is too much thats easier to fix then frozen

Re: anybody freeze up this week?

Wow, -28, I cant imagine that cold. When I was young, we lived in Ohio and it got down below 0 many times, but I have been in Texas for 30+ years and I can deal with the 100+ temps in the summer better than the cold there.
