aka "Bubba"
A little over a year ago my dad mentioned to me that he would like to do a father and son build someday. Well, considering he was almost 70, I thought no better time than the present. I've had this truck for twenty some odd years so it too has become part of the family and was a perfect candidate for this project. A couple of days later we went to work. We've now made it to an almost complete chassis, panel replacement almost complete, smoothing the firewall and getting ready for paint. We have done all of the work except the paint, powder and trans.
As for the name, my father's nickname has always been Bubba so the truck is a tribute to him. So without further adieu, let me introduce you to Bubba. |

Re: aka "Bubba"
The original plans were simple, do a frame off and make it a nice, dependable driver. Well, the plans changed along the way but it will still be a driver.

Re: aka "Bubba"
No pics of the ride home from the paint shop. A few pics of the sheetmetal work. We did, A pillars, kick panels, outer floor with inner rockers, lower B pillars and front and rear cab mounts/braces at this point.

Re: aka "Bubba"
You'll get a peek at one of the colors when I post the powdered/painted chassis picks, the other color is still a secret, even to me. Both are custom colors and I just haven't quite made my mind up on the second color.

Re: aka "Bubba"
Got the motor back and built it up. Nothing too fancy. 454 with all stock rotating assembly, worked the heads a little, extreme marine comp cam kit.

Re: aka "Bubba"
The tunnel ram is a bit of a teaser, it's not going on the truck but it sure looks cool on there. It should still do ok in the "go" department though.

Re: aka "Bubba"
The truck won't sit near this low but it's a cool pic.
Only doing a 3/5 static drop on this one. |
