restoration question

Generally speaking if you have a 1971 3/4 4x4 and a 1976 3/4 4x4 with the same issues which one is it cheaper to restore. Also which is it easier to find parts for (i'm assuming the 1976) and is one restoration easier than the other.

Thank You for your time.

Re: restoration question

The one with less rust will be cheaper. Parts availablility are about the same for both. Pick the body style you like best and go for it.

Re: restoration question

The 76, depending on what you want to do of course and whats wrong with them. 71 will easily bring more money though and is rarer.

Re: restoration question

Restore only the one you want to keep.Either one will make a nice ride but either is a losing proposition when selling it restored.I personally think the 71 is more desireable and worth a little more but a square body dude probably would want the 76.

Re: restoration question

the 76 will not be worth the same at the 71, all things equal. you will find more/cheaper parts for the 76, but 67-72 parts are relatively cheap too, so if you are going to build one, it's a negligible difference.
