Re: power steering question.

I kept the original idler on mine.
If the condition of yours is good, I wouldn't bother.

Re: power steering question.

so, i am getting ready to add power steering on my '66...my 5-lug front disc conversion uses parts from a '72 (control arms/spindles/etc)....i kept the original '66 centerlink...when doing the conversion this way, you use '66 outer tie rods at the inner location, & the outer tie rods are '72...this is connected with a POL conversion sleeve....i'm upgrading/replacing everything with Moog parts....to keep confusion to a minimum, i plan to use a '72 power steering gear box, pump, brackets, etc...my question is, do i need a pitman arm for a '72, or would i need one for a '66? or does it even matter?

that was my plan, to use a '72 to match the gear box...just wasn't sure if there are any differences between the two....with keeping the '66 centerlink, i'm using a '66 idler arm...this kept me from having to drill holes & relocate a '72 idler if I had used a '72 centerlink

Re: power steering question.

I just did the swap, and used the whole steering assembly from my '82.
