Glove box door to Instrument Cluster - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have been working on this for a while now and I am finally Finished!!
I could not make up my mind what I wanted to do for gauges so I statred experimenting with a glove box door. My truck is going to be more custom than stock.

1. I like what Putter does to the stock gauges and clusters but I didn't
want to go stock
2. I thought about using Auto Meter in the stock cluster
3. I considered the Billet clusters but I didn't like the location of the gauges.
4. Since my truck will be more custom than stock this is what I came up with and my glove box lid will match with the carbon fiber.

Cost
$10.00 extra glove box door
$460.00 Classic industries gauges
$66.00 Chrome Plating
$15.00 LED lights (turnsignal and High beam)
$0.00 Carbon Fiber
$50.00 Switches (lights and Wipers)

$601.00 Total

The outer edge is chrome plated like the original.

I have metal studs welded to the back of the cluster and metal tabs welded to the cluster opening

I have a customer that gave it to me. Whats great about using a glove box door is that you can use a lot of differant things for the background. I was thinking about using guitar pick guard or custom paint like a marbilizing technic

Crafty and outstanding! Carbon fiber looks clean. The "guitar pick" you mentioned...is that a finish that you can buy, or does it require several steps to effect?

Its a thin plastic that they use on guitars. Google it and there are some real neet designs. You can also use paint and get a marbalized effect
