How many '70 short-step CST's were made?

I was just wondering as I'm looking at one for sale.
Original truck. Has CST side molding on the stepside fenders; I've never seen this before. Loaded up with 350/T350 AC, PS, and PB.
Can't have been too many made I bet.

Not many were made at all, but the molding on the steps is not correct...this may be a fake.

I doubt it's a fake. Looked factory to me. Part of the moldings are missing and you can still see the factory clips. Seems to me I read a post once where someone else had seen a stepside with factory molding. Maybe dealer installed? Either way, if I get the truck, I don't know what I would do to find the molding pieces that are missing.

I cant imagine moldings on a step but i had a 70 CST that was a upper and lower fleet truck, that someone put the step bed on,Id look at the tag in the glove box, does it say Side Molding?is it a real step truck?I coulnt imagine there being one,but ive seen a 63 Impala 4door that somebody put SS trim on,and IMO opinion wasted some good SS trim but cutting and trimming, and they had to use more than one set to make it work, thought it was a shame, but hey im going to be just as bad,i have 62 SS Impala side trim im going to cut and alter to put on my 62 Wagon, and im going to put in the SS grab bar, bucket seats, and console.and going to ditch the power seat, and stock trim.anyone need any 62 wagon side trim?power seat, power windows?seat tracks will work in 61-4 2 or 4 door or wagon, power windows fit 61-4 wagon,or 4 door sedans.kind of rare.

I'm going back to take a better look at it this week.
I will check the glove box sticker.
Looked to be all original to me though; original orange faded paint, CST emblems on door, side moldings on fenders/doors/steps, chrome outside/inside trim, original hubcaps, engine, etc. Did not seem to be "messed with" at all. The moldings on the steps were factory looking with precise, smooth bends and factory retaining clips - no amateur job.
I'll post what I find out.

Hmmm, in 70 the CST badges were on the fenders, not the doors.
