I would like to replace my lap belts with shoulder belts{69 c10}.Will any chevy truck shoulder belt work?I have a trip planned to a salvage yard and am working on my list.Thanks,Mel.As time goes on I will hopefully be able to contribute rather than just have questions.

I believe the full size '90s belts are too long and the S10s work very well.

Not everyone will agree with this, but if you're looking at shoulder belts, you are doing it for safety reasons. With that in mind, I would recommend new seat belts rather than used. I bought new retractable should/seat belts for my truck for less than $150. I got the color I wanted and they look great.

With used belts, you don't know their history. You may never have a problem with a used belt, but if you do, it could be disasterous. And for $150, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Most of us are not the original owners of our trucks and many have been in acidents and been repaired, or sat in the sun for long periods of time even before we bought them. So I guess the question is do any of us really know the history of the belts in our trucks? If the junkyard belt is still soft and not beat up I say use it. I just found a matching middle seat set for my hard to find turquoise green bench seat that is in better condition than the original ones in my truck at a local junkyard. There are still good finds in the salvage yards.

I'm personally thinking about going with bucket seats from a newer model Tahoe, since the seat belts are built into those.... and of course 5 point harnesses on the 69

This is a great idea, my son loves riding in my truck. He is 4 now and rides in a seat that requires a shoulder belt, so it kills him when he can't go for a ride with me anymore. I'll be watching this thread.

There should be a pluged up hole in the B pilar already. I know there is in my '69 not sure if '67 had the same hole but there is a welded nut in inside for shoulder belts.

I really don't want to sound like a broken record here as I've commented about this kind of thing many times but when I see a thread where comments about safety are next to comments of using the integrated belt seats I get a real sick feeling. Anybody thinking of using the integrated belt seats needs to consider that all of the shoulder belt loads will be through the floor. Even a new floor in good shape was never designed for this. You will be trying to tear the back of the seat out and submarine the front through the front of the floor. Also consider that just a regular bucket seat truck has a reinforced floor beyond what a bench seat truck has and they don't have integrated belts. It can be done but not without careful thought and execution. Really just using normal 3 point belts into the existing intended holes is a much safer bet. For the record I do this stuff for a living. I don't take it lightly.

I put Juliano's 3 point belts in my '72 GMC and they work perfectly.

The little plastic button is just pressed in there. A small screw driver or a careful razor knife can pry it out and the nut is right there ready to go. If you look at my picture closely you can see the original re-enforcement plate that has been spot welded above and below the button about 1.5 inches.

Thanks,looks like may make better sense this time.They come with all the brackets/hardware needed plus no chance of fatigue.
