Does this video spend most of the time showing how to hack up a nice long bed or is it general info good for all?

Why do you feel its "hacked up"? They show how to cut a LWB to a SWB. I suppose if they were showing how to stretch a SWB to a LWB that would be just fine.

Neither would be to me. It makes more sense to me to just buy the vehicle you want from the start but that's just my opinion and we all know what they say about those.

Bugeye - I kinda agree with you about the TRUCKS show itself, but I really am hoping the DVD is not like that. Yep, if they only sewed together the C10 episodes on the DVD, I'll be disappointed. Personally, I miss good Ol Lou on MuscleCar. But the TRUCKS show is something that is up our alley - but I agree, too many commercials! But whatcha gonna do... That's why I'm hopin the DVDs won't have any of the crap and maybe a little more than just the build stuff from the edited shows.

Having said all that (and to one of the comments above) - the C10 build was a very cool one in my book - it's more than just shortening a longbed, they do the frame with air-ride (or shockwave, I forget) and am hoping they'll show some of the Hot Rod guys rebuild of the 283. I'm stuck in temporary military housing right now, and my truck is sitting in a hangar in another city for the next few months, so TV (and this site) is all I've got for entertainment!

Just ordered mine as well. The show could use a little more actual show but they are still informative. The truck turned out nice and it will be something to add to my collection of truck stuff!

Re: TRUCKS 66 C10 on DVD

I downloaded all the episodes as each one became available from I Tunes, I have had mine for sometime now. I don't know what they are charging for the DVD but I think I have less than 20 bucks in all the episodes. I think it is a 9 part series and I don't care who does the shows as long as we can see stuff like this done on a regular basis, I don't care to see them do the 4 wheel drive stuff, but to each his own.

Re: TRUCKS 66 C10 on DVD

That show provided me the template to shorten mine. I bet the DVD is great since I assume there won't be any commercials. Very useful knowledge and measurments in there about cutting the frame and bedsides. They should have removed the middle stake pocket though!

Re: TRUCKS 66 C10 on DVD

Well got mine yesterday. Fellas save yourselves some money and just buy the episodes on itunes. No extra info.... no extra footage... just the episodes collected together on a DVD.

Re: TRUCKS 66 C10 on DVD

Thanks for the input. I was about to place the order but gagged at paying $27.00 for one DVD with standard shipping. I previously taped all the episodes except the last two, condensed everything down to the actual truck project and burned it to DVD. Everything fit easily on one disc with plenty of empty time left since some of the segments about the C10 are only 2-3 minutes long.

I really enjoyed watching the build, but lost interest waiting weeks and sometimes months for the next installment. I think I’ll be happy with my fuzzy homemade version until pricing becomes more realistic (which will probably never happen).
