Spring Time Work

O.K. guys this coming weeks in am going to turn my C20 into a C10
I need some info still. I am looking at a 1972 C10 it has front disk and a 3.73 rear. I know the front clip will bolt right up but what about the rear. I beleive from previous threads it will.
Any help , I have all the tools but my rental home has limited electrical, so I really can not use my welder.

Re: Spring Time Work

The only change will be the panard bar bolt locator, you`ll have to modify or by new....

Re: Spring Time Work

So, I guess I will be placing an order with CPP for the bar.
Everything else will line right up!

Re: Spring Time Work

If the '72 rear and yours are both trailing arms or both leafs, then you are good to go. Otherwise, you will need to modify the perches to fit the suspension you have.

Re: Spring Time Work

Yes the '72 rear end will bolt right up to your trailing arms. However, like Rich said, the panhard bars are different. The C20 used the long panhard bar with the mount on the passenger side axle tube. The '72 uses the short panhard bar with the mount on the passenger side of the center section. The longer the panhard bar, the less side to side travel through out the verticle suspension travel. If you decide to go with the shorter '65-'72 panhard bar, you will have to either put a slight bend in the bar, or change the mount on the frame.

Re: Spring Time Work

Man I am MAD.
The seller of the parts started trying to hustle me for more cash.
We agreed on a set price then when I show to pick up he wants more.
I walked!!

Re: Spring Time Work

Even though the guys needs a good smack in the head, don't despair. There are plenty of donor trucks out there.
