Drive Shaft?

I just dropped in a new motor into the truck and I bought a turbo 350 and I was wondering if I got a drive shaft out of a truck with a with a turbo 350, would it fit?

My truck is a 87 GMC 2wd 350 with an 700R4

Re: Drive Shaft?

If the turbo 350 has a 9 inch tailshaft you can use your existing driveshaft.

Re: Drive Shaft?

I will have to check if it is. But it is at the tranny shop right now getting rebuilt. If it is not I will have to find a drive shaft that lines up with a shorter tail shaft.

Re: Drive Shaft?

I'd call the transmission shop and tell them to build it as a 9 inch no matter what it is now. Any decent shop will have the tailhousing and shaft around to use if yours isn't already. Even if they upped the price to build the trans a few bucks for the hassle it will be cheaper than buying another driveshaft.
