1966 LWB Truck 1
I should have taken more pictures with this but...my bad....So I started out by purchasing this at the portland swap meet all most 2 years ago now....I drove it around just the way it was then decided that I wanted to up grade...So I ripped all the old rotten oak out and replaced all of that by making my own kit....It had been lowered with a torch and really needed the works and a disc brake kit...

Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
So off i went...new 2.5" drop spindles with upper and lowers..3" drop coils in the front and 4 "drop coils in the back...new brakes all the way around.Converted it all over to 5 bolt and added a new master cylinder and booster...Tried my hand at a new seat skin and wrapped the old seat and found some wheels i liked.....and here is the result so far.

Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
I love the way it sits. So to get it there took 2.5" spindles, 3" dropped coils in the front, and a 4" dropped coil in the rear?
I know you said it rode awesome, but how does it handle the bumps? Does it bottom out anywhere? I'm seriously considering copying your set-up for mine.

Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
My bad...I just looked...I used 2.5" drop spindles and 3" drop coils up front.....and then i went with 5" drop coils in the back....It was mostly a CPP thing but I went with McGaughys drop spindles. I wouldn't go any lower with out taking out the front cross member. Granted I am running 15" wheels with low rubber but it rides awsome I really like it. But the cross member is low upfront.

Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
It was a bit of a tough choice but i decided to do the entire inside in the same blue....I think i will put a bit of white on the wheel to just to break it up....But am really having a tought time trying to decide if i want to baseball cap it on white.....or do the entire outside of the cab in blue....just can't decide and am headed to look at pictures to decide....

Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
I would like to find a picture of a long box small winow in a close color to see if i want the top of the cab white or the same blue.....almost all of the white cabs i can find are a really light base color....not sure how it will look with a white cap on that....It does have the white stripe and all of the trim on the side of it...but i just don't know

Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
I'd get the bed installed, color sand and buff everthing from the window openings down, put the tires and wheels back on it, and then stand back and look at it from every angle for a day or two.
A white top will definately give it a more stock-looking appearance, while the blue top will give it more of a hot rod flavor. You'll just have to stand back and look at it for awhile. To me, being as the interior is now blue, I'd leave the top blue as well. That truck is going to look nice regardless of what color you choose.

Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
Thanks Resto..
I appreciate the feedback... I redid the boards....they are ready to go .... I think i am leaning to go with the blue.....should be okay with the custom trim pieces.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- chevyrestoguy Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'd get the bed installed, color sand and buff everthing from the window openings down, put the tires and wheels back on it, and then stand back and look at it from every angle for a day or two. Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
Ya know i feel bad for this build......I built this thing in a couple of weeks...I put new rear axles....rear brakes...5 "drop coils ..new drums in rear.....Then in the front new upper and lowers...2.5 inch drop spindles....3" drop coils....new master cylinder...new booster...dropped in a HEI....New 2.5" dual exhaust...re did the seat....and then it sat in body shop jail for months waiting and waiting.....but it should be on the road tomorrow...crosses my fingers.

Re: 1966 LWB Truck 1
I like it, the white cap helps keep it kind of classic looking, especially since you put the white in between the trim pices. Cool pickup.
