I scored big time on a 72' Jimmy
After many years of restoring 67-72 Chevy's, I wanted to find an old Blazer/Jimmy, and I hit the jackpot!! Just 4 miles from my house!. It has a chevy grille, but I'm going to convert it back to a Jimmy. It is titled as a 1972Jimmy, plus I like the looks of the grille on the Jimmy's. Not much rust, just the end of the torsion boxes. Floor and bed are good, windshield also good. It didn't have a top, but it has been inside this guys garage the whole time. It also has a factory tach! Here's the kicker, I only gave $1500 for it!! There are STILL good deals out there.!! I've enjoyed this sight for years, and just thought I would share. I'm pretty pumped! First time posting pics, hope they come through.

Re: I scored big time on a 72' Jimmy
Thanks guys. Looking forward to fixin' er up. . The only rust issue is the rear of the torsion boxs. The whole box is there, just the rear section is rusted bad. I can't wait to get this baby licensed and on the street this spring/summer!! Plans are to restore the interior (new carpet, dash pad, seat covers etc.... I would like to find a hard top, but may go with a soft top, still undecided there.

Awesome score. I'm very jealous. If I could have scored that deal here, the Fiance might actually let me keep it.

Re: I scored big time on a 72' Jimmy
That is a great deal!!
You probably already know, but just thought I would point it out just in case you don't, it's not as easy as just swapping the grille. The core support will have to be modified for the headlight buckets (not a big deal) but the fenders will have to be changed as well. 67-72 Chevy fenders are different from 69-72 GMC fenders.

Re: I scored big time on a 72' Jimmy
Both of you guys are killing me! Can't find anything in that condition in this part of the country for that cash! Both of you guys scored. Great looking Jimmy's. I am partial to that color. I have a 1972 CST 4x4 Blazer and 1972 4x4 Jimmy in Ochre

Here's a double wall for you.
