Re: any interest in boat mods?
Yes there is interest...
DannyK that boat is HOT, do you take it out on Beaver? I have a fascination with 70's jet boats and LSx engines with over-the-hull open exhaust. There are a few on LS1tech and a couple boat forums.

Re: any interest in boat mods?
after seeing these I don't think mine is worth taking pics. not to mention how it doesn't seem to exist in any literature or website. it's a 1970 Alumacraft fiberglass tri-hull. a whopping 14'9" long with a model name of "Jamaica". the guy I got it from is the original owner, no one else has owned it. he used it for 6 years and put it away in his garage.
it's not much but the wife and I love it and catch loads of fish with it. maybe this weekend I will get a chance to pull it out of the garage and snap some pics along with my improvements. first I gotta mount my minn-kota on the front. |

Re: any interest in boat mods?
Thanks Leevon. Yeah, its my Beaver boat (haha). She's a Donzi Sweet 16, designed by Don Aronow of offshore racing fame. He's the guy who started Cigarette,Donzi,Formula,USA1 Racing etc. My truck is red also, I think they look cool together. BTW, I worked for Tahiti Skiboats in the late 70's, we built big block jet boats all day long (most had Bassett water injected over transom headers) until the fuel crunch, then we switched to 4.3 Chevys with OMC or Volvo outdrives. Right now I'm glad my Donzi has the 4.3, she'll cruise in the 50s without sucking too much gas. Its getting warm here and I'll be de-winterizing "Flight Risk" soon.

Re: any interest in boat mods?
Here is a old fiberglass boat I got a while ago. These old boats are making a come back. So far I have on ly stored this boat but one day I may actually restore this thing.
Fiberglassics is the place to go for old boats. They specialize in fiberglass but have a ton of info on aluminum and wooden boats as well. http://www.fiberglassics.com/forums/kunena-forums.html

Re: any interest in boat mods?
I took a few pics of mine today and the mods I have done so far. but it's late I need a bunch of beauty sleep.
if ya want pics of my other boat do a search here for "big johnson" or look on page 23ish of the "trucks are for chickens" thread in 67-72 area. it's a 1965 Johnson tri-hull with LOTS of style. |

Re: any interest in boat mods?
That Delmar is pretty cool, ChevTruckGuy ! The helm aft of the cabin is unusual in a boat that size. Looks like a great project !

Re: any interest in boat mods?
Would there be any interest in a thread for boats/tow trucks ? Ya know, one for just pics of trucks with boats hitched to them ? I'm about to de-winterize the Donzi.

Re: any interest in boat mods?
I finally got my internet wireless connection fixed. here's a teaser pic of my current boat. granted it's not as fancy as yours but it catches a lot of fish and is quite inexpensive. plus it goes well with our old trucks.

This is my "bass chaser". '98 Bullet 21XD, Mercury 300 Pro Max. It is loads of fun, but it is a handful at WOT. I love hot rod boats!!!!

Re: any interest in boat mods?
This reminds me of a dude we saw that had 454 dually converted 97 4x4 suburban in 98 or so. It was a nice rig black to and super clean, and a twin 454ed Baja that wasn't much older. I think it was a 40 footer.
