camero gas tank

I am new to the forum, has anyone installed a camero gas tank in the rear between the frame rails. By using a camero gas tank you would be able to run the filler through the rear plate and not have to modify the bed

This thread has the whole instillation. I did it to mine for the same reason. Pretty easy to do, hardest part is just mocking up the tank to see how low you want the tank to set behind the license plate. Its a little better to have the filler neck closer to the license plate. I positioned mine back a couple inches just in case I get rear-ended it has less of a chance of spilling everywhere (still better than being in the cab). I can send you some additional specs or pics if need be.

Why is it so hard to spell Camaro?

I like the idea, but from those examples it hangs down too low for me.

not to low for me! did mine back in 07, I may be the original! lol. I have had no problems with mine and even on a stock height truck you have to get below bumper level to see it.

That one looks nice, not nearly as low as the one in the link. I wish I would have known about this before hand, but I'm happy with my Boyd tank, so I'll just hack a hole in my bed somewhere Or maybe I'll weld a new neck coming out the back like that hmm, decisions.

Hey, I'm in the middle of a build (67 SWB) and used a 16 gal. Mustang tank. it fit perfectly between the frame rails and cross supports. You have to do few small alterations to the bottom or the frame rails, but nothing major. It's a great fit and the center filler neck for the gas tank comes up perfect in the middle of the bed floor.

Because, when GM and Chevrolet were in the late stages of the design and early stages of pre-production mules, they were called Panther. When the name Camaro came out as the final product name, there was controversy as to whether or not it was actually a word. Someone said "Camaro" was spanish for friend. Others spelled it "Camero". It's a wonder that it didn't come out as "Camiro".....after the El Camino. Maybe is should have been the El Camiro.

I guess it all depends on how you pronounce it, in comparison to how you spell it...

Thank you for your quick response and spelling class. Sometimes incorrect spelling will save you money on ebay, if the person posting the item spelled the item incorrectly not that many people will bid. Lucky for me c10 is easy to spell.
