Bilstein shocks for 69 C20 - Updated 2 1/2 years later

All I can find are front shocks for my application. It has a coil spring rear. All I can find are front shocks. Any ideas?

Re: Bilstein shocks for 69 C20

I ordered mine from CPP, but you can get the spec and part numbers on the shocks from the Race Car Dynamics links above.

They did not make a rear shock with the dimensions (compress/extended) that fit my needs. So, I decided to go with the closest ones they had and make new upper shock brackets out of 2x4 .25" thick stock rectangular tubing, which you can order online, to make them work.

Thanks for the information. How about some feedback once you get them installed?

Re: Bilstein shocks for 69 C20

After 2 1/2 years I finally got around to putting Bilsteins on the 69er to replace the worn out Rancho shocks.
The rears did not have the steel sleeves in the rubber bushings so I took the ones off the old Rancho shocks and had to use a little persuasion to get them in.
I took the truck for a quick ride around town and was happy with the nice firm ride.

Very nice. What made you choose Bilstein over another brand? I've run them on a couple different vehicles. Loved them on my wife's Nissan Armada but didn't so much on my commuter Altima. I'm looking for something on the front of my 78 C20 big block.

Not any particular reason, I've just heard a lot of good things about them.
So far I'm very happy with them.
