rebuilding AD door hinges

For those of you who've freshened up your door hinges on AD trucks, who did you get your pins through and what was the quality of the fit? Thanks!

Re: rebuilding AD door hinges

I just bought a rebuilt kit from classic parts of america or brothers, they are probably identical. I had a shop put them on for me and it made a huge difference. The hinges are solid with no up and down movement.

Re: rebuilding AD door hinges

I got a kit from Brothers I think. It was a pretty easy install, but I have access to a nice milling machine that I could really hold onto the hinges. The hardest part was getting the old pins out. I actually had to drill out the old pins because they had rusted solid in there. I have some pictures on my build thread if you want to see how I did it.

Re: rebuilding AD door hinges

over at Stovebolt MartinSR has a tech page on the install. It includes the easy way to extract the pins. My kit came with new bushings, as long as you drill the hole for bushing the right size the fit is tight. It is for AD trucks but TF are very similar.
