Early classic's hidden hitch

Who has one?
How do you like it?
Can someone get some measurements for me?
I need to know the distance from the front of the crosstube to the rear of the receiver tube.
SCOTI on here put one on a 73-87, I'm also wanting to put one on my square CCSB but want to make sure it will fit between my 'burb tank and sport bumper before I order one.
thanks!

My Truck came with one that the PO installed.
I'd like to get rid of it. I'm NEVER gonna tow anything with it.
Just seems like weighted/Wasted mewtal on my Truck.

Re: Early classic's hidden hitch

Dont remember the exact total but around $250 shipped ($40 of that was shipping),Their prices were better on phone than online.Dont have a link (sorry) ,but customer service was great .I just asked for his best price for the kit. You can buy just the hitch for considerably less ,but I needed it all.

Re: Early classic's hidden hitch

I've already done the research, that was a high speed accident where the trailer took the full force of the impact. What hitch would survive that?

Re: Early classic's hidden hitch

I read that too but decided the same as you that no hitch wouls stand up to that .I wont be towing loads like that either ,just a 6x12 utility trailer from time to time.

Re: Early classic's hidden hitch

Cool!
I ordered mine today, shipping was @$15-20 cheaper through Carolina classics, so that's where I ordered it from. Hopefully I'll see it late next week.

flashed, how long did they say for shipping?

Re: Early classic's hidden hitch

I have one on my 67' K10 and love it, fit great, looks good (what you can see of it!) and I have towed a little with it. What dimensions do you need?

Re: Early classic's hidden hitch

I think I have the dimensions i need. I was trying to get the length of the receiver tube front to back. I finally heard back from Early Classics, they said it is 4 3/4" long

Yeah, I think I'm good
If it doesn't work when I get it, I'll just have to make it work
Thanks!

Re: Early classic's hidden hitch

I received my Hidden Hitch yesterday and clamped it into place ,it is going to be great when installed sometime in the future .I had hoped to not have to drill all 6 holes for it but that will be a little easier soon. My truck gos to the body shop today for tear down to start rust repair. As soon as the bed comes off Im going up to install the hitch. The quality off the hitch looks good ,and the welds look strong .

Re: Early classic's hidden hitch

The drilling is a little tedious, I used Rota-Broach bits for mine (basically a spot weld cutter based bit that cuts out like a hole saw, very round holes and cuts through like butter) I have never had a quality issue with anything I have ourchased from ECE, great company/people.

Right on!

Mine is suppose to be delivered tomorrow.
I'm gonna try to get it installed this weekend.

That's cool,
Where do you get those bits?
I'm thinking I may use my uni-bit to drill my frame.
I'm pretty sure I will need to drill all 6 holes, and I'm either going to have to drop my gas tank or fab up some threaded backers that I can fish in between the tank.
