My derby cars
Anyone who has strong affection to '80s GM fullsize cars might want to turn back now.
Here are some of my demolition derby cars I've had over the years. Enjoy

Re: My derby cars
The last few are my current cars I'm using.
I'm probably going to use the '89 Custom Cruiser and pull the engine out of it after this year to put in the '84 Cadillac I picked up with the crappy 4.1

Re: My derby cars
Ouch! I can't say I "love" 80s full size GMs, but I do have a place in my heart for that generation Caprice/Impala. I learned to drive in my '78 Caprice Coupe, and I love that car. (still have it too). It was the second year for the "downsized" B bodies that were produced until 1990. My mom liked my Caprice so much that she bought an 81 Impala. The best thing about these cars is they are so cheap and easy to repair. Just about everything mechanical is in stock at any parts store in the country because they made so many of them. They are also quite indestructible. About four years ago, I hit a Toyota Corolla that ran a light and then I it the light post. It looked bad, but it drove like new on the way home. I decided to resto-mod it after that and keep it for a weekend cruiser.
Anyway, I will let you demo them so that eventually they will become rare enough that mine becomes a collector car . Pics are as follows: Original After driving through a Toyota and into a traffic light Rebuilt Rebuilt rear view Last edited by 78bronzechariot; 02-25-2011 at 12:13 PM. |

I don't notch the frame or anything, it's a stock class so the only we can do is strip the car, remove the glass, and relocate the tank and battery. That's why those backends are so bent up the "wrong" way. I'll probably keep posting pictures on here as I make progress this spring and summer, it's kind of a one-time-a-year deal for me with work and my other projects.
