Can anyone verify This Wood Bed Info for a 70 LBS

hey all, first i want to say thanks for all of your guys help, there is a wealth of knowledge here and i appreciate the fact that im able to have such knowledgable people to turn to for advice.

ANYWHO! im about to put in a new wood bed in a 70 chevy long bed step, and i have the following website with bed wod measurements. I have some nice mahogany, but before i start cutting things, i was wondering if anyone can verify first hand the measurements they provided for the 70 LBS.

Heres this from another website..
A stepside bed has fenders attached outside the metal bed sides and a step extending from the rear fender to the back of the cab.
Short Stepside: Length of bed wood 77 1/8". Inside width of bed 50”.
Long Stepside: Length of bed wood 97". Inside width of bed 50”.

I'd trust what Wes posted on his site. But,I understand your concern. Do you have your bed parts(all the metal)? It's just a matter of leaving a gap for the bolts in the cross pieces. Just measure bolt hole to bolt hole and take enough off each edge to allow for the bolt shank + a bit of play.

Go here:

http://www.gmcpauls.com/47-72_BedWood_Info.htm

GMC Pauls has a very complete set of drawings and parts lists for every truck from 1947 to 1972.
