Finally got a truck
I finally got a truck. Been on here for awhile just looking, was looking for a '63 -'66 truck but no luck. Came across this 1968 LWB C20, It has a 350/350 in it with a cam and headers. It came with the original manual booklet and coupon book. Its alittle loud for me but maybe someone can help with that. Wanted to know if i can take the headers off and put reg. or flowmasters on, and will that quiet it down still having the cam? Well heres some pics.

Re: Finally got a truck
WOW, great looking truck, looks like it is loaded. Buddys, AC, tach dash, steering, brakes, cruise, etc. Would like to see a close up of the SPID.

Re: Finally got a truck
awesome truck! If you're taking it back to stock I'd put original manifolds and some decent mufflers. If you're going to hotrod it I'd leave the headers and get quieter mufflers than it has now if it has any now.
what's on the dash? Tach and clock?

Re: Finally got a truck
Damn what a nice and rare 68! AC top of the line CST and as mentioned a 50th anniversary! I wish either of my 68s were 50th but oh well, and it looks like it is in good shape. I don't know about you, the speakers under the dash would have to go, and the stock stereo would be gone!
As for the exhaust, I would just leave the headers on and to quite it down, try running some Magna Flows on it. Will be quieter then Blowmasters *Flow Masters* and actually out flow them. The only downside to headers is they are notorious for gasket leaks because the bolts come loose! Cheers, Charlie

Re: Finally got a truck
Thanks everyone, was looking for a c10 but that's ok. Just wanted a nice truck and I think I found it. Yes it is a vacuum gauge. I don't see a clock in there, and will be removing those speekers. Not sure if the radio is stock but on the SPID it says push button radio. As for the exhaust I think I'm going to put stock manifolds and quieter mufflers and run the pipes all the way back. Right now they stop right behind the rear of the cab.

Re: Finally got a truck
your dash is uncut, so you can put in the correct radio if you choose. Here is a pic of the your uncut dash.

Re: Finally got a truck
That is not the original radio. And I am pretty sure that is a picture of YOUR truck. I think Brian either looked at the truck or got better pictures from the seller.

Re: Finally got a truck
Correct, I actually did both and I feel you got a great truck. I had to pass on it, cause what I really want is a 71.
