Power Steering Bracket??

My engine is using this block: 14010207 ...350...80-85...2 or 4
and these heads: 3782461....64-66...327......Camel hump,no accessory holes,160/62cc port volumes,62cc chamber.

The question I have is what years can I pull a power steering bracket off of. All the ones I have seen involve the alternater on the drivers side and mine is on the passenger side. Also there are no accessory holes on my heads that eliminates a few also. The junk yards here are kinda limited on what they have and I need better info for them to put it out on the wire. My steering box is for power steering but the PO just bridged the two lines on the steering box.

depends on if you are using short or long water pump. if you are using water pump and pulleys that came with that engine then use brakets for p/s pump also.

This engine was in the truck when I got it. How do I determine if I have a short or long pump. I can't remember how or what to measure.

Long water pump is 7 1/4 " from fan flange to block mounting flange. Short is 5 something" but this will get you close enough to know which you have.

The short pump also doesn't have any mounting flanges on it for accessories.
I got my pump from somewhere in california (been several years ago). It mounts to the block only fairly low on the drivers side. Was fairly easy to get mounted up. I looked all over in yards but they were all gone around here. Could maybe get a pic taken in a few days or something.

So since I don't know which pump I have can somebody give me a source power steering brackets, for both short and long water pumps, considering the other details(heads and alternator placement). I need to really sort this out I only have a day a week to work on my truck and I hate to waste it digging thru junk yards.

I'm not totally sure of this but I think you will need to use a short water pump if you are planning to use oem brackets. Most of the long pump brackets require the use of accessory holes in the heads. Are you planning to use headers or manifolds and are you going to have AC (if your using exhaust manifolds do they have the accessory provisions for the alt bracket,if headers you'll need aftermarket bracket or adapter). Your best bet is to get a complete set of pulleys and brackets from the same truck. There are a couple of different configurations of the power steering brackets and pulleys used on these trucks. I know from personal experience that the 67-68 power steering brackets wont fit if your using a 8 inch damper. I think the bracket and pulley configurations used on 67-72s is one of the hardest things to get information on. This is a post that appeared on the board about power steering brackets that I saved maybe it will give you something you can use.

need someone who has a 69-72 350 with orginal powersteering and a/c to please write me the part numbers on your crankshaft pulleys, and describe what they are. We have a rebuilt engine (done before we bought it) and cannot get the right pulleys, and are having a heck of a time finding the right part numbers so we can get the right pulleys. When we bought it there was a pulley made of two interlocking two groove pulleys. The outer one for power steering broke. We had it replaced accidentally with the wrong part. My husband has seen the right pulley on other trucks in the past, he says there is about a half inch space between the powersteering groove and the a/c compressor groove, is this what yours has? We have a Blazer pulley on it now (#3744043-BA)just the two groove peice of the set, and assume it may even be a Blazer engine, but its still a 1970 350. We are missing the third groove. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

In 69 and 70 GM used a cast two groove p.s. add on driver pulley on the crank. Part number 3923888.The belt ran on the forward groove. The power steering pump used pulley part number 3925537 with the cast crank pulley. In 71 and 72 GM went with a stamped single groove crank add on.Part number 3751232.The ps pump pulley was part number 3993325 for the stamped crank pulley. It sounds like you need the cast two groove add on for your ps, you said the engine had two pulleys with two grooves each. The pulley 3744043 is the same for 69-72 trucks with a/c and alt.
I hope your not confused because I think I am. You can always go the aftermarket route. Good luck.....Stroker
