Tailgate Rod Clips??

I'm finally getting around to connecting my relocated tailgate handle. My biggest problem is connecting the rods to the latch. I tried using the stock clips I picked up from LMC. They seemed too small for the rods that came with my Mar-K tailgate handle. I was thinking something like this would work:


Has anyone tried using these later model clips?

Yes, I have picked up some of these at Napa and they worked well...I don't know about long term as I used these last year.
