My 1970 4x4 front end
Well I re-built the brakes on my 70 4x4, and found out the front is a dana 44
dodge. The front brakes are disc, and I had to use 69 dodge coronet disc to make it work. Well, I have been driving around in the snow two wheel drive, with no problems. So after the brake work. I locked the front hubs and went for a spin, no problems, so I held my breath and pull her into 4 wheel low, and still no problems, I guess I have a hybred LOL I will look around and find a 3/4 ton or just leave it alone. And the wheels are the same bolt pattern, new on me. vik |

Good deal, I think you're ok as long as you know what parts you have when it comes to maintenance.

Thats the way I look at it, if ever I need to correct then I go 3/4, but it
works nice and quiet. vik |

Re: My 1970 4x4 front end
My '70 has a 10 bolt of unknown vintage with disc brakes. I have a "correct" d44 from my '72 parts truck that will eventually work it's way onto my '70--maybe. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Vikingthor, I like your suburban. Is that the truck I seen for sale in Edmunds on Craigslist? I seen it & thought it looked like a pretty good deal but I had just bought my 1970 a few months earlier.
