I'd say give the A2Z wheel cleaner a try, but either that or the aluminum wash should work. From reading the info on the Mag Cleaner, I wouldn't try that one, sounds like its not good on aluminum.

I vote A2Z as well. Don't forget some or most aluminium wheels are clear coated too. You don't want anything harsh that will discolor the wheels and don't use a brillo pad either, just a soft brush.

What kind of polish does everyone use on their billet wheels?

I've always used A2Z.
Airmale, the best polish I've ever found for polished wheels is X-Treem metal polish. I've seen it under other names too. It reminds me of NeverDull polish, except X-Treem is pink and moist ( ). It is good stuff, comes in a small container for about $8.

Mine are billet and aren't clearcoated. I just use the Mother's mag and aluminum polish. It works good for me but I'm up for trying something else, I'm tired of my fingers being black when I get done with this stuff.......haha I think I'll keep an eye out for the X-Treem stuff that Low87 posted about.

Eric.....SOAP AND WATER!!! Eagle one products are horrible and cause spotting and all sorts of problems. Yes I know some of you use them and for some applications....it can be done.

In your case I would say if warm soapy water doesent work...try some lightly diluted Simple Green. Dont let it sit long. You could use Dawn dish soap if you wanted to go a little stronger on the soapy water thing first.

the thing is, my wheels are machined aluminum and dont have a clear coat on them, so really strong stuff will mess it up, and i dont have brake dust on them because the wheels have no venting holes

OH YEAH...Sorry....but Matt....that Extreme polish will most definetely leave your hands black as old motor oil.

Everyone laughs at me but.....NO matter what I am working on, I put on a pair of laytex gloves....the thin surgical type.. A box of 150 of them is like 7 bucks. Great for keepin the hands clean and not dried out from chemicals.

.................somehow I think Greg will have a comment for this one. lol

Eric...the best thing I can recommend that is not too harsh again is the Simple Green. Dilute it about 1 part water to 3 parts SG. Works great. If you want to scrub it a little since they are machined. Just get you a potato scrubber, they are super for stuff like that and plenty of other jobs too.

HAHA, now that you mention it Dave, I remember them talking about that when we were all up there last year. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to invest in some of the gloves, cuz it takes three days and a million hand washings to get this stuff completely off my fingers.

X-Treem metal polish also sells a wax to use after you've polished, helps hold the polish and keeps your wheels clean longer. I'll make a run to the tire store and buy out their stock this weekend. That stuff is the shiznit!

Well, being as I've got Torq Thrust II's, which are polished billet, I use what AR recommends to clean them, which is Eagle One aluminum wash. Works great so far, and no spots. To polish them, I go with AR's own polished wheel maintenance kit. It's a polish and sealer pack. It's high but damn it works good. I figure if you use what the company who makes them recommends, it's good enough for me. So far, so good.

I have informaton on a product that the government has that will keep wheels clean and shiny for 7years between applications. The US government discovered cleaner/polish on a space-ship that had crashed here on earth. The amazing thing is that when this ship crashed it stayed pefectly shiny and clean. I would make this information available to all of you but I fear that the FBI would ruin your life.

Sorry to get your hopes up
