Yet Another Dip Stick Question . . .
Howdy, When I installed power brakes on my '71, I never considered the dip
stick. It is now basically under the master cylinder. It is inconvenient to get to. I can live with it as it is, but is there a good way to bend, lengthen, replace, etc. the stick and tube to make it easier to reach? My truck is a 1971 c-10, 350/350. Thanks in advance for any options. Best wishes, Les |

Re: Yet Another Dip Stick Question . . .
my stick is on the opposite side, change your pan or there are felx wire tubes that would be alot cheaper for you.

Re: Yet Another Dip Stick Question . . .
I believe the trucks came with dip sticks on the passenger side and cars and vans came with it on the drivers side.
What you might look into is using the stick and tube from an 88 and later truck. It is longer and bends toward the front of the engine thereby maybe clearing your booster.

Re: Yet Another Dip Stick Question . . .
Yea, I have a bog block out of a 74-75 truck. Either way there is a LONG time between block style changes so that shouldnt matter too much. If I were in your situation, Id go with the Flex tube.

Re: Yet Another Dip Stick Question . . .
Roadmarks, I noticed you did say 350. 1979 and earlier small blocks had the dipsticks on the driverside of the motor. The Lokar dipstick for that application is part # ED-5002 There will not be much flexabilty on that unit because the flexible housing is so short. It is defiantly better than the stock unit if you want to change the angle. Any questions contact us at lokar Toll Free 877-469-7440. Thank you John

Re: Yet Another Dip Stick Question . . .
If you can find a dipstick & tube setup from a 4x4 -- they are longer, and extend forward... well clear of the master cylinder.
