has anybody tried this new product? ive got to change my water pump and was wondering how good it is. its supposed to help drop your temps 40 degress. any help would be nice. hurry spring!

i have used this in my racecar and dually and saw marginal results,it only shows an eight degree Fahrenheit drop in a car with a 50/50 mix of water and coolant, and an eighteen degree Fahrenheit drop for a car running 100 percent water.for cars running straight water, WaterWetter provides some additional protection. This includes traditional coolant roles of reducing corrosion and lubrication of water pump seals. For cars caned on the track or driven in the summer only, a water-only engine and cooling system solution will lead to problems. However, for cars with a tradition 50/50 mix of water and trad coolant, these benefits are already present without WaterWetter

I used to run in the Nevada desert in my '51 pickup. We dropped a 350 in it with stock suspension. The fan set a little low on the radiator. It would get a little warm at stop lights and such. The water wetter helped it quite a bit...

Water wetter is not new, class 8 trucks require it, it makes the coolant flow better and keeps the coolant from boiling and turning to steam in the hot spots around the cylinders. In a big truck this boiling and turning to steam process leaches holes in the wet liners in each cylinder until eventually it eats through the wet liner into the combustion chamber. They have test strips that one can dip into the radiator every oil change , if it changes colors one needs to add more (DCA) water conditioner. It will not hurt a thing to have it in your truck but it will not drop the temp 40 degrees and you really do not want to drop the temp 40 degrees. If it is running really hot something else is wrong. I have been using Liquid Kool for over 30 years, at the suggestion of some dirt track buddies.
Its like $3 a qt, I use it at every coolant change.

Living in Texas, i use a 70/30 mix ratio +QK, since we don't see frigid conditions.
It works great even in the OTM on the track.
(not point and shoot, I'm talking road coarse)
