Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
I have a nos 1967 fender. The guy I bought it from told me that one of the ways you can tell if a 67 fender is original is the 3 little triangles at the top of the fender at the front(see pics). Has anyone else heard of this? Also the fender I have doesnt have the bracket that bolts the fender to the cab up top. What do you do there??

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
Every 67 oem fender has had the three triangles. not sure about the mounting tabs. maby remove the one from your existing fender and add it to this one?

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
That is what I was thinking. The 2 holes where the mounting tabs should be are threaded. I didnt know if they made one that bolted on instead.

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
That looks like the big truck fender, they do not have the brackets at top to mount like the 1/2 -1 ton trucks do.

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
Big truck fenders bare no resemblance to 10-30 series what so ever. I can't say I know what's going on with your fender, though. I have never seen that on any fender. I have OEM '67 fenders and they are made like any other fender.

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
I just bought a passenger side nos fender for a 67 off ebay. I havent received it yet but in the pics it looks like it doesnt have the brackets either. I will post pics of it when it arrives.

Not for a 1/2 ton. I hope you are doing a BIG truck?

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
What big truck are they for? Does anyone have a way to look up the part numbers? They are 3886701 and 3886702.

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
I don't know for sure if the number on the fender 3886701 is actually a GM p/n. However, I looked up the GM p/n for a '67 LH and RH ... Ser. 10-30 (except FFC) is: 3898859 LH; 3898860 RH.
I don't have a big truck (Series 40-70) GM parts book or I'd look the number up. But, I suspect you may have a fender for that type of truck. |

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
I can't believe I didn't see this before but after looking real close, it does say FFC. You have a FFC (flat face cowl) fenders-- Which was for Canada and some Mexican export trucks. As these didn't have the same cowl configuration as domestic trucks, but everything else on the fender is the same.
So, like the other member said cut off the brackets from your other fenders and mig weld them on and call it good. |

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
Thanks for the info. Why in the world would they have different methods to attach fenders?

Re: Questions about NOS 1967 fenders
Old thread I know... Anyway I have a chance to buy a pair of these same fenders. I just want to verify that welding the bracket on will make them work on my '67 just fine.
