Let's see some pictures of hot stovebolts!

This one is the one I talked about when I introduced myself to this forum.. It is a 261 bored and stroked to 303 .. Offset ground crank to 4.220 , bored to 3.905 (not recomended due to how close it is to the head gasket ) H beam rods and custom pistons....

Re: Let's see some pictures of hot stovebolts!

Awbrown, may I get some details on that carb linkage on the 261? I just picked this up to put in my 66- the outboard carbs are blocked off- but at some point I'd like to remedy that, and in the meantime have the linkage set up even if the carbs aren't doing anything.

My 64 C10 has a remanufactured engine with F07I7N stamped on the block. The casting number is 3788406 (62-69) 230 I6. I haven't been able to determine from what year and model is from. Can you help?

Re: Let's see some pictures of hot stovebolts!

@ Monolith ..
My buddy likes doing that kind of stuff, he spent 14 hours doing it !! I think if I was going to do it again I may use 3 seperate cables and merge them to a lokar pedal with a cable .. If it is a Offy manifold they sell the linkage , it simply hooks all 3 carbs together ... you could hook the end two together and run the center with a cable or the stock linkage..I have been told by one person that these carbs wont work turned 180 but I think that person had fuel problem ,I have yet to try this one because it is still at the upholsterers....

Re: Let's see some pictures of hot stovebolts!

Aww I don't know anything about engine numbers, I found out mine on google. Just type in "230 straight six engine identification" try a few different titles, you will find it eventually.

292 thats goin in the 67

Not a Stovebolt but still has 6 cylinders and makes more HP and torque than the other 2 combined.

Re: Let's see some pictures of hot stovebolts!

Well, since we got off of stovebolts and onto 292's, here's some of mine.
LP pistons, Schneider Cam, lump ports, big valves, roller tips, all ARP, balanced and hopefully bulletproof.
I had the original '63 valve cover chromed. The sea foam green block color will be the truck color too.
I'm welding up the exhaust now, then on to brackets to mount a Type II power steering pump, etc.
